Rimless tanks and sumps: what reef keepers commonly use
Larger displays with a sump below, sold as a system or built up piece by piece. Below are 2 items we see often, each with our honest note and where to view it in the UK and the US.
We sell nothing and earn nothing from these links. Prices are as each retailer's page showed them on the date checked, and they change. How this guide works

What should you look for in rimless tanks and sumps?
- Glass thickness for the height of the tank, and an overflow rated for the flow you plan to run.
- A sump with separate space for the skimmer, a sock or roller and the return pump, and a section with a steady water level.
- The inside of the cabinet: measure the door opening before you buy a sump.

Red Sea REEFER 300 G3

Our note. A rimless display, cabinet and glass sump sold as one plumbed system, with Red Sea's top-off and leak monitoring built in. You still buy the light, return pump, skimmer and filter roller, so the full cost is well above the tank price.
